Hello everyone!
This past weekend I had a great time helping out and being a part of a private fashion showcase event for d.RA, the company I am interning for. It was a sort of last-minute notice for me but it’s okay because I decided to come and help out and it was really a fantastic event. I got to meet so many interesting and cool people! We chatted late into the night - almost an hour after the event was “over” !
I arrived at 6:20 and helped setting up most of the things (rack, clothes, etc). I put the clothes on the hangers and hung them on to the rack. I also steamed all the clothes so they would be presentable later on for the guests to browse through~
The spring line itself was beautiful and I got to wear one of the dresses! (it was my favorite actually hehe). Anyways I just enjoyed myself a whole bunch and I was so glad I went because I really got a good opportunity to gain some insight and experience with the behind-the-scenes of these kind of events. I also of course got a good chance to network and meet new people which is also very important.
One of my favorite things about the evening was the venue - it’s a cafe called Lamill Coffee located in a sleepy-town-ish part of LA (imagine that, eh?) and emanated a very tight-knit-community and cozy feel. I loved the venue to bits I am coming back there to try their other desserts and tasty foods. Everything they catered us with was like heaven! Also the place itself was so beautiful and elegant! You can read about them here: http://lamillcoffee.com/
Anyways, I happened to bring my Canon DSLR with me so I ended up being in charge of snapping some photos for the event too ! It was loads of fun. I do apologize for the photos being pretty pixel-y and not very great quality because the lighting was pretty dark and the pictures came out originally very orange/yellow; after I edited them, they became sort of pixel-y so that’s probably the effects you’re seeing. I really tried to fix them but it didn’t turn out how I really wanted them to but I hope that doesn’t bother anyone too much! Sorry in advanced >_<
Here’s a few photos of the guests and the team just milling around and mingling. Wow look at the back of that dress! It’s from the Spring line.
Looking through the lovely clothes rack with featured pieces from the line!
Here is the d.RA team! (from left to right)— Jen (sales), Danica (senior designer and my internship manager), and Diana (founder and creative director of d.RA). They are all wearing dresses from the Spring line! don’t they look fabulous?
Isn’t the venue absolutely lovely? Here’s a gorgeous lantern I was obsessed with and kept taking photos of lol. The hosts/waiters were totally amazing and very nice to every one of us. They kept asking if if we needed any drinks/coffee and kept the delicious food coming!

More decor in the cafe~
Foooood! I didn’t get to try these but I’m sure they were mouth-watering-delicious!
More mingling and chatting ~
This is Madeleyn, a model d.RA called in for the event. I chatted with her most of the night - she’s from Estonia (just moved here a month ago from there… Wow very impressive!) and had a lovely accent! And she’s so gorgeous! >_< We talked about Estonia vs. America a lot haha It was so fun.
Finally a photo of me! (the only one unforunately …) You can see the dress I’m wearing ~~ isn’t it lovely? It was my favorite in the collection :) And of course I’m striking a pose with the beautiful Madeleyn.

Danica posing in a cute photo with Kaci (one of the other models and also a friend of Danica). Kaci also chatted with us all night; she’s so fun and lovely! She’s also a designer for Obey.
The three models who I talked to for the majority of the night. They are all very interesting ladies! From left to right: Kaci, Madeleyn, and Ariel.
These two ladies represented a fashion stylist (who couldn’t attend the event herself unfortunately so they were there representing her.)
so exquisite! ! English muffins topped with melted goat cheese!
Kaci doing some fun modeling, twirling shots for the dress she wore for the evening: Jory Dress
And here are some of the souvenirs I got to keep for the night~
Well that’s it for now! Thank you for visiting ! I hope you enjoyed reading my posts ! Till next time ♥
